Blake Lively Has Officially Entered Her Vintage Era

  • Fashion

Blake Lively famously styles herself, which means that when she steps onto the red carpet in trophy vintage, you know it’s a piece that she’s personally hunted down. Case in point: Versace’s glittering multi-coloured gown from fall 2002, which was worn by none other than Britney Spears shortly after it hit the runway. Lively managed to beat US Vogue’s Margaux Anbouba to the dress, sourced by online dealer Tab Vintage, wearing it to the New York premiere of It Ends With Us last week.

It’s not the only archival piece that Lively has been spotted in lately. For an appearance on Live with Kelly and Mark at the end of July, she wore a floral halterneck dress by Vivienne Westwood, dating back to 2004 and also sourced via Tab Vintage. Then, there was the printed Dior by John Galliano skirt suit from fall 1997, which she wore in New York earlier this month. Most recently, the actor opted for a vintage Atelier Versace gown from spring 2018, featuring a cut-out embellished bodice and floral-print skirt, for the Danish stop of the promo tour.

There were signs that Lively was entering her vintage era when she wore a blue mermaid-esque dress from the 1960s, sourced from Happy Isles for a Tiffany’s event in New York in May. Back in September, meanwhile, she was spotted wearing a vintage Chanel tweed jacket while out for dinner with Taylor Swift and Sophie Turner.

The actor’s latest archival streak confirms it: we can’t wait to see what other vintage gems she digs up (and beats us to!) for the rest of the press tour.
