Ramsay Sime Darby Health Care adopts AWS-hosted annalise.ai’s CXR solution

  • Health

Private healthcare provider group Ramsay Sime Darby Health Care will be adopting a radiology AI solution from the Australian startup annalise.ai.

The official deployment of Annalise Enterprise CXR follows an earlier proof-of-concept study where the technology was found to have “amplified” radiologists’ ability to detect critical findings from chest X-rays.

Built on AWS cloud infrastructure, the assistive clinical tool uses AI to rapidly and accurately detect and interpret up to 124 CXR findings. It is slated to be deployed in the radiology departments of RSDH’s flagship hospitals, Subang Jaya Medical Centre and Bukit Tinggi Medical Centre.

RSDH, which runs over 150 hospitals, also plans to deploy the CXR tool to its other hospitals in Malaysia and in Indonesia.

THE LARGER TREND

AWS sees the partnership between annalise.ai and RSDH as laying the foundation for more cloud deployments in Southeast Asia. In March, the cloud solutions provider announced that it is setting up an AWS infrastructure Region in Malaysia, helping its customers in the country run workloads and securely store local data with lower latency.

Annalise.ai has been expanding aggressively worldwide. Most recently in May, it made its first landing in India, one of the biggest medical device markets in the world, by opening a development centre in Chennai.

In other related news, RSDH’s flagship hospital SJMC recently launched what could be the first connected health service in Malaysia, powered with remote monitoring technology and telemedicine.
